Happy Christmas from Lindsey

The theme is Throwback Thursday.

A note from Lindsey

Lindsey had a mental break in October. They were hospitalized in Grand Rapids for about two weeks. During that time, they found out that they are living with Bipolar I with severe psychosis and C-PTSD.

Since November, Rachel has been living with Lindsey to help with care, meds, driving to appointments, groceries, sanity checks and more, etc. She’s a rock star.

What does this mean? Lindsey won’t be attending large gatherings (more than 2-3 people) and instead is going to have Christmas at home and then spend Christmas night with Sam, Jess, and their nephew James. This is because too much stimulus can make symptoms worse.

What does support look like? Lindsey and Rachel will reach out to you if more support is needed. At this time, Rachel & Jess have already set up a meal train, support structures with each other, friends, and more. Lindsey does not want a phone call about this matter or prayer for their condition.

This boundary will hopefully help keep Lindsey out of hospitalization.

Lindsey hopes that this present can help to represent their missing presence and love for this family when they are unable to attend family events.

With lots of love and Merry Christmas,

Lindsey

Dear Lindsey, Day 21 has been read and we are in the process of absorbing your note’s information. We remembered the conversation you had with your Dad at our home about this being a problem in the family. We wondered why you were so interested? Now we feel we are informed and only want what is best for you in the future. Oh! My Goodness. Thanking God today you have a Sister, Rachel , by your side. You know if there is anything that you think we could do to help you, just ask? We loved you when you were born and love you more today. Grandma and Grandpa
